"Sicily: The Challenge of Turning Great Potential Into Great Wines"

07/12/2015

Ian d'Agata, wine writer of Vinous Media, reviewed some of our Santa Tresa wines with wonderful remarks.

2014 Feudo di Santa Tresa Nivuro Sicilia IGT - 90 pts.

Good full red-ruby. Rich, smoky aromas of dark berries, coffee and tobacco leaf show a strong herbal element. Then fruitier on the palate, offering an attractive light touch to the sweet, very smooth flavors of cassis and cocoa. The precise finish displays good medicinal reserve and a restrained sweetness to the lingering berry and coffee flavors. - Ian D'Agata

2014 Feudo di Santa Tresa Frappato Sicilia IGT - 91 pts.

Bright red. Perfumed aromas and flavors of red fruit cocktail and flint.

Suave and sweet in the mouth, showing a layered texture as well as a penetrating quality. Finishes very pure and long, with lovely mineral lift and a strong floral note. A knockout wine; you'll have a hard time putting the glass back down. -Ian D'Agata

2013 Feudo di Santa Tresa Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG - 89 pts.

Medium ruby-red. Fruit-driven aromas of raspberry, black cherry, flint, mocha, tar and smoky oak. Bright and juicy on the palate, displaying good definition to the dark berry and herb flavors. Finishes with moderate length and a repeating flinty quality. -Ian D'Agata
