We are very proud to share two new excellent scores from James Suckling for our two premium organic wines from SantaTresa: Orisi and Avulisi!

Orisi is one of the so-called Sicilian relic grape varieties, which were recovered thanks to an ambitious project in Sicily, in which Santa Tresa played an important role.
The goal was to recover the native Sicilian varieties and register new regional clones.
We are very excited about this project as it will help protect the biodiversity of Sicilian wine regions.

Here are the tasting notes of JamesSuckling:
"Sweet aromas of berries and cherry with hints of laurel. Medium body, firm and fine tannins and a fresh finish. Polished tannins. Long and graceful. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink now."

Avulisi is produced with the best grapes from the Santa Tresa estate, from our oldest vineyards, planted in 1964.
A beautiful single vineyard, meticulously cared for, Avulisi has extremely low yields that do not exceed 30 hl/ha, guaranteeing grapes rich in fine aromas and flavours.
Avulisi has a multifaceted character, expressing the pure style of Nero d'Avola.

"Intense and spicy nose with very rich and ripe berries and mineral notes. Full, round and silky on the palate with many fruity and savory flavors covering the well integrated and fine-grained tannins. The acidity is perfect and gives freshness to the finish long. Very refined expression of Nero d'Avola. Delicious now, but will improve for a few more years."
